A Piece of Germany in the Heart of Leeds

Christkindelmarkt in Leeds is one of the largest and most established German markets in the United Kingdom. Set in the stylish civic setting of the award-winning Millenium Square, it attracts thousands of visitors each year, and forms an integral part of the city’s annual events program. Like every year since 2001, this year also, the Christkindelmarkt returns with a little something for everyone.

The market takes form of a scenic winter village filled with over forty wooden chalet stalls, run by authentic German traders, Alpine style cabins, Christmas traditional carousel rides and children’s ride, twinkling lights, etc. A wide range of items are available for sale too- unique seasonal gifts like handcrafted jewellery, decorations and toys, speciality food and traditional German delicacies like Stollen, Gingerbread, Goulash, Schnitzels, Gluhwein, etc. There is also a make-shift Frankfurter Scheune- a beautifully themed festive meeting hall- which serves a specialist food menu which includes traditional roasts and live entertainment.

Christkindelmarkt , organised by Leeds City Council in partnership with Frankfurt AM Main and supported by local media event partners Real Radio Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Evening Post, creates a unique continental style festive atmosphere in the heart of Leeds. The market is open from 10:30 am to 9:30 pm on all weekdays and Saturday, and till 7:30 pm on Sundays, tills the 18th of December.
